The course will differentiate true shockwave from radial pressure wave during a theoretical review; however, only radial pressure wave will be covered during the practical portion of the course. The course will be offered over 2 days and attendance on both days is mandatory. There will be certain learning outcomes monitored over the duration of the course. A certificate of completion will be issued to successful candidates.

Prerequisites

The course is open to any practitioner allowed to use shockwave as a modality through their regulatory body. This is including but not limited to the following: physiotherapists, chiropractors, osteopaths, podiatrists, massage therapists, acupuncturists, urologists, medical doctors and nurses.

*It is recommended that practitioners complete the course “Radial Pressure Wave Therapy” prior to completing this course.

  • Foot & Ankle (bunions, ankle sprains, Morton’s neuroma, shin splints)
  • Lower Leg & Knee (shin splints, meniscus & ligament injuries)
  • Hip & Glut (SI joint pain, sciatica, post-joint replacement)
  • Back (MVA injuries, scoliosis, chronic low back pain, treatment of protrusion symptoms)
  • Neck & Jaw (MVA injuries/whiplash, headache, talomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction)
  • Shoulder (adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder), posture correction)
  • Hand & Wrist (carpal tunnel)
  • Thumb &Finger (contractures, De Quervain’s Syndrome, Depuytren’s contracture)

Course details

The course will run on Saturday & Sunday 8 am to 6 pm.

  • 90 minute online training module (completed prior to first day of in-person training)
  • Pre-course quiz (completed prior to first day of in-person training)
  • 1 hour open-book online exam to be submitted within 3 days of course completion
  • 4-hour in-clinic add-on component for additional practical training
  • Access to online module indefinitely for case study and training purposes

Instructional hours: 21.5

Online Module Cost: $5000/student-practitioner (incl. GST).

Practical Course Cost: $5000/student-practitioner (incl. GST).  Includes indefinite access to online training module at no additional charge.

Group Training Rate: $15000/group (incl. GST).  Limit of 12 student-practitioners.  Can be performed at ILS Headquarters or at the groups own clinic.
